We were promised on a change election. We elected the candidate who promised us change. We gave him a mandate for change. We expect us to deliver on change.
But so far this is looking like Clinton’s third term. Rahm and Posdesta already running things. Senator Clinton a possible SOS. Eric Holder , a Clinton WH vet , possible AG. Majority working in the transition team are Clinton WH vets.
We need old WH and Washignton experience agreed, but we need more new faces to do things differently.
Team of Rivals, has emerged as a the possible model for the cabinet. Good concept possibly, bad idea sometimes. Lincoln was forced into the position because only his rival were qualified people. Now that is not the case. If he wants rivals in his cabinet have Dick Cheney or Rumsfeld or Sarah Palin, they are rivals too!
Obama is no Lincoln. Lincoln didn’t become the president till history made the Lincoln. When he was elected he was known as honest Abe. He remained honest Abe. If Lincoln had lost the civil war and failed the war on Slavery. you think we would have him as the greatest president. He would be the worst.
Obama is still -on drama Obama. He is yet to win a battle on public policy in the halls of congress and senate. The country has enough drama and problems. We don’t need a Clinton side show now.
A better case is made by David Ignatius.
